British Education. Global Vision. Future Leaders.

At our day and boarding school, we provide an authentic British and international education for children aged 14 months to 11 years. Our teaching follows the British National Curriculum within an international context, using inquiry, project-based and STEM approaches to empower future leaders.

We nurture independent learners through academic rigour, creativity, IT coding and AI, farming, forest school, sports, swimming, after-school enrichment, field trips, inclusive learning opportunities, global awareness and key 21st-century skills. Our aim is to develop confident, resilient global citizens. From Foundation Stage to Year 6, we support our students through every stage of their academic and personal development.

Early Years Foundation Stage (14 months – 5 years)

The Early Years Foundation Stage at our school provides a rich, nurturing environment where young learners are empowered to explore, question and imagine. Our curriculum blends the English EYFS framework with inquiry-based learning, Forest School pedagogy and African contextual experiences, ensuring that every child is supported academically, socially and emotionally. Through structured play, early phonics, emergent mathematics, storytelling, music, sensory exploration and outdoor learning, pupils develop the foundational skills needed for lifelong success.

EYFS Goals:

  • Secure early communication and language skills, including sound discrimination, listening, speaking and early phonics.

  • Establish early mathematical understanding through number sense, patterns, shape, measurement and problem-solving.

  • Develop confidence, emotional awareness and positive social relationships.

  • Strengthen gross and fine motor skills through physical play, creative activities and practical tasks.

Impact: By the end of EYFS, children transition into Reception and Key Stage 1 as confident, curious and independent learners who can communicate effectively, work cooperatively and demonstrate resilience in new learning challenges.

Key Stage 1 (5 – 7 years)

Key Stage 1 provides a structured yet imaginative curriculum that deepens core academic competencies while allowing children to explore knowledge through inquiry, creativity and practical investigation. Literacy and numeracy are prioritised through systematic phonics, progressive writing instruction and conceptual mathematical learning. Science, humanities, technology and creative arts are delivered through cross-curricular themes rooted in real-world relevance, the African context and Forest School experiences. Pupils learn to ask questions, test ideas, record findings, present their thinking and reflect on their learning.

KS1 Goals:

  • Strengthen reading fluency, comprehension, handwriting and written communication.

  • Build mathematical confidence in number, calculation and problem-solving.

  • Develop scientific thinking through observation, prediction, testing and evidence-based conclusions.

  • Establish early digital literacy, coding awareness and safe online behaviour.

  • Cultivate confidence, independence, teamwork and perseverance.

Impact: By the end of Key Stage 1, pupils demonstrate secure foundational literacy and numeracy, scientific curiosity, an appreciation of local and global contexts, and the confidence to apply their knowledge in a range of meaningful settings. They are ready to enter Key Stage 2 as articulate, motivated and responsible young learners.

Key Stage 2 (7 – 11 years)

Key Stage 2 represents a period of accelerated academic growth, increased autonomy and deeper intellectual challenge. Our curriculum is aligned with the English National Curriculum and enhanced through STEM integration, design thinking, entrepreneurship, sustainability and Artificial Intelligence studies-ensuring learners are prepared for a rapidly evolving future. Pupils apply knowledge across subject areas through investigation, research, experimentation, technology, leadership and collaborative project-based learning. They engage with local and international issues, positioning themselves as problem-solvers and global citizens.

KS2 Goals:

  • Achieve strong competency in reading, extended writing, grammar and advanced mathematics.

  • Apply scientific knowledge through systematic inquiry, experimentation and evaluation of results.

  • Strengthen digital fluency, coding, robotics and early AI understanding.

  • Develop leadership, resilience, self-management, critical thinking and effective communication.

  • Build cultural intelligence through African studies, world history, global geography and environmental stewardship.

Impact: By the end of Key Stage 2, learners display a strong academic foundation, technological confidence and a mature understanding of their role in a global society. They transition into secondary school as innovative thinkers and principled young leaders, equipped with the skills, values and mindset required for success in an interconnected world.
